Transparent Status #242

Closed DAddYE closed 10 years ago

DAddYE commented 10 years ago

The transparent status bar seems that is not working on Kitkat launcher.

I am not currently planning to investigate on this. Especially when KK launcher is not something that is supposed to be used on Android 4.2/4.3.

Is there a way to prevent GB to touch the default setting, IIRC before install GB was correctly transparent.

Hmmm... not sure if you already read this: Google Experience Launcher may come to all devices (http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/11/04/the-google-experience-launcher-may-arrive-on-all-devices-by-way-of-google-search-updates/).

screenshot_2013-11-07-08-32-00 Statusbar transparency with KK launcher works for me out of the box. The only issue is navbar since launcher does not stretch wallpaper to cover all screen when it finds out there's a navbar.

That's pretty strange, I'm on a xperia stock rom 4.2.2 that as any sony rom is pretty much aosp, and I see it like:

C3C0 commented 10 years ago

That pretty much explains it. Xperias are known to have too much incompatibility issues with GB. Mainly "thanks" to modifications Sony made to PhoneWindowManager.

OT, I can see you managed to add another homescreen. I couldn't figure that out within 2 minutes so I uninstalled it immediatelly :D

DAddYE commented 10 years ago

I see, you had to drag something an icon on the edge, TBH I like it

C3C0 commented 10 years ago

Looks like I should have read the hints at first launch more carefully :) Anyway, it also crashed on me when I was trying to list widgets.

DAddYE commented 10 years ago

No problem from my side with anything, btw I know needs some lib, I'm uploading my flash that should have anything working.

Also, could this help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2510410 ?

Here's how to install the new Google Experience Launcher: http://phandroid.com/2013/10/31/download-and-install-the-new-google-experience-launcher/.

C3C0 commented 10 years ago

Yes, I did it exactly like that. Then when I hit menu / widgets, the first screen with widgets appeared and when I tried to scroll to see more it just freezed and then crashed after a while.

I have an issue with transparency statusbar in lockscreen (transparency is set to 56%) : when in Lockscreen tweaks > background style > custom image, I select a custom image, transparency does not work with my ThL W8 using GravityMod2... is it normal ?

C3C0 commented 10 years ago

It is normal. Only default wallpaper is supported. It's a known limitation since custom imabe can't be spanned to fullscreen to cover the space behind status bar. Only default wallpaper window can do that.

ch-vox commented 10 years ago

OK, thanks !
