The figures

lack axis label, variable names, etc
the maps might benefit from masking of points
the figures should be split into figures for training data and for all data. the latter we won't when we use the tool for spinup and is only needed for the development/debugging of the tool.

Besides the figures,

we would need 1 document summarizing the results of the training: e.g. a matrix indicating how well each pool/element in training(!) data is predicted.

I'm working on some simple improvements for this for the dist_all.png plot in Task 1. What do you think the best strategy is? Do I commit my changes directly to the repository, or do I send them to you or Yilong to review/commit?
