MIL - Prefer the edited down version of the item screen on the current version of VuFind. Including all the fields (language, format) makes the page too long to see the call number immediately, you usually have to scroll to see holdings.

IWU - I tried a DVD, VHS, and a 16mm film to see what the new layout looked like. In our current version, you can see the summary, physical description and the call number all on the same page. Now, with the new interface under the "Holdings" tab you'll find the call number once you scroll down to the bottom of the page. To see the summary and physical description you had to click on the "Description" tab - seems like another step or click to get to the information.

TIU - When searching for films in VuFind 3, I noticed that the search results only list the title and publication date. I know this is the same as the current version, which is ok if not exactly helpful, since it would be much better to have the director listed there, in the old version it was possible to get that information by clicking on the result. In VuFind 3, the listing for the record does not include the information from the 245 subfield c at the top of the record. For films, this means all the names are bunched together under "other authors" (which includes actors, crew, directors, musicians, and all sorts of other people without distinguishing what their role is), and there is no way to figure out who the director or starring actors are without already knowing it.

When a library has multiple films with the same title, this means that patrons have no way of figuring out which version they are looking for without going to IMDB or somewhere else. I think including the 245 subfield c (the statement of responsibility) at the top of the record would be helpful for any format, but for media records leaving it off results in something that's extremely difficult to use. I have included links to the same record in the two versions to illustrate what I'm talking about.

MIL - I still think this could be edited to make the holdings move up on the screen. The addition of the preview of the item description on newer titles (e.g., “On Human Nature”) only makes the screen longer, but I actually kind of like that addition.
