Menu icon in mobile-sized view unnecessary? #210

TRN - In the mobile version of VuFind 3, there is a menu icon (the three horizontal lines, whatever that’s called) above the library branding, but all that’s revealed when you click it is the Login link (or My Account and Log Out). It might take up less room to just have the account-related links display all the time…

@eschell What are your thoughts? I'm not sure if this would go against standard practices for responsive design or be a good idea. We want to limit unnecessary customizations, of course.

I'm willing to experiment and see how the suggestion looks like. The 'hamburger' icon (that's what it's call, I had nothing to do with that) is pretty standard across the web in responsive design right now.

We might be able to extend that menu in the mobile version to include the Course Reserves and New Items. Because I'd like to remove the footer from the mobile version.

IIT - Is it possible to remove the hamburger menu from the mobile view of the site? It appears that the only thing that touching it does is reveal the login button- maybe it would be easier if that just displayed from the start instead of the hamburger. RT 96508
