Feature request: Widget placements #123

Currently the widget placement is semi-automatic: there are only few options to place it. It would be particularly useful if one could change the window size of a widget (for example, I want to make the image window smaller but can only do so in x direction but not in y-direction since there is no other widget placed beneath).

@acsch, I think this problem really reduces to the one issue of not being able to shrink the bottom of a widget that is at the bottom of the screen when none is placed under it. But what would you move it into? Hyperspace? ;)

Perhaps what you're doing is wanting to output a specific image of a specific shape, and I guess the way to do that is to place a widget underneath the image viewer, and then shrink it. Although, having additional options like cropping to a selection and then saving only the cropped region to disk would be cool.

What layout are you using? The default does have a widget underneath the image viewer (Render Configuration). Is there something else you're requesting that I've missed?

Basically, what I want is decide on the extact shape and size of the image viewing window. Nomally, on a computer I can do this with any kind of window. but here the 'work space' is divided fully into the windows placed there and there are restriction as to size. For example, I just tried out the default view (with a window beneath the image viewer) but I cannot move the room divider as low as I would want it to - so it seems I'm alternating between 'big' and 'small' window. So, it's not ideal.
