I would really like to compare two images side-by-side. I see this is planned for a future release (multi-pane support) so can I please add my vote for the implementation of this.

Another simple way of doing this is by using SAMP (Simple Application Messaging Protocol) which is supported by DS9 and Aladin. Then I can view a radio image in CARTA and the optical images in DS9 or Aladin. Are there any plans for CARTA to support SAMP?

multiple-panel view is supported now (upcoming v3-stable).

regarding SAMP support in CARTA, more discussions are needed.
