sdo:alternateName vs. pnv:hasName #27

Open coret opened 1 month ago

coret commented 1 month ago

PiCo uses sdo:additionalName instead of pnv:hasName to add PNV nameparts to a Person observation and reconstruction. Why was sdo:additionalName (with description "An additional name for a Person, can be used for a middle name.") chosen over the suggested PNV property?

Please add the explanation (when agreed upon) to the documentation.

sdo is the most authorative schema in the PiCo ontology, as it describes global concepts. Whereas pnv has lower authority as it is a specialized vocabulary. Hence we reason from sdo and not from pnv. This is according the concentric approach of PiCo.
