varpicker does not pick variables in safari #364

In QDE var picker does not select variables in safari. Works in firefox and chrome.

Example, expected behavior in firefox on prod: var-picker-no-bug-prod-ff

Example, not working in safari on prod: var-picker-no-bug-staging-saf

verified fixed by #351 with example below var-picker-no-bug-staging-saf
