We do not block VPNs or anything else, we have specifically disabled all security features on URLs accessed by software. It is a problem on your computer that you are not connecting through the VPN and the VPN blocks traffic that goes through the wrong network adapter (likely). We rely on Cloudflare, and the fact that you are getting "Error connecting to ..." shows that it was never connecting to our server in the first place, otherwise if we were blocking VPNs you would be getting an HTTP error code or something.
You can also tell that not only LiquidBounce cannot establish any connections, but also mods such as Iris:
[Iris Update Check] Failed to get update info!
java.net.SocketException: Permission denied: connect
and this makes it even clearer that your operating system is actively blocking connections by saying "Permission denied" when it connects.
Have you used the LiquidLauncher or went through manual installation? There is usually a firewall-warning pop-up on the start that will ask you to allow Java to access the network. Also, I am a Mullvad VPN user myself and it works for me on both Windows and Linux.

Describe the bug
I am fairly sure this bug has been reported before, but I don't think anyone really understood why. My client can't connect to the LB servers because it blocks my vpn (mullvad.) I am on an older version of LB but I'm fairly certain that this bug is still an issue, given that there are still people reporting it. I really don't know how you'd fix this, I'd suggest either allowing more vpns through, but that'd probably just lead to easier attacks on your servers. Either way, it crashes when trying to launch. (by the way, I had a bunch of other mods enabled, but I don't believe they have anything to do with it.)
Steps to reproduce
Buy Mullvad (or presumably any other vpn) Connect to any server and try launching LB Crash
