We can have a page that lists the summary of the events( workshops, confs, etc) that the club members should consider attending. There are always some conferences such as JavaOne, DeveloperWeek, AppsWorld, HTML5DevConf, etc that students can attend with no charge or with little costs. Having this page will benefit all website visitors overall.
