As a ReportStream team member, I want to investigate DAP features so that we can understand what analytics are available and if DAP will support our needs.
Background & context
ReportStream is registered with the Digital Analytics Program (DAP). They have since upgraded their system to run on Google Analytics 4. Our understanding thus far is that GA 4 is not as accurate with low sample quality data, as the RS website is grouped in giant sample size (all gov websites!). In previous experiences, RS team members noticed that warnings that appeared, flagging that our numbers may not be totally accurate because it’s doing some interpretation on the data. For example, some fields say “0” because it was missing from the sample that they were querying.
This ticket captures the work of investigating the new GA4 interface and assessing if it provides the data that we need about our website analytics. Ultimately, we will make a recommendation whether or not our own separate instance of GA is needed.

Notes doc: To be added
Acceptance criteria
[ ] Explore the GA interface and document high level usage guide for other ReportStreamers to reference
[ ] Pull relevant analytics and share with the team
[ ] Verify that DAP GA works well with the small sample size that is ReportStream, and if it does not, provide Product with the recommendation to add our own GA instance
@chris-kuryak filled out this ticket with some info you shared during our 1:1. also tagging @etanb just as an FYI! feel free to hmu with any other insight/experience you have.
