Review timer design

We need to think through how the timer will work for multiple conditions.

• Show time elapsed? After a certain amount the test will be invalid (Window when test is valid)
• How do we handle unknown time for devices?
• Also how do you manage when someone is testing for multiple diseases simultaneously and their devices have differing times?

Considerations

• Look at metrics (do we have any analytics on the timer?)
• Review touchpoints feedback related to timer
• Desk research - how long are timers for common HIV, COVID tests? How long is test valid?

Challenges:

• Understanding the problem space
• Scalability, multiple diseases with competing time requirements (HIV, STI, Covid, Flu)
• Ensure that styling matches USWDS and SR
• Consider timer Interconnectivity to conduct test flow and other parts of the Simple Report experience
• Consider mobile vs desktop experience

Deliverables:

• Design spec: documentation of the problem space to collaborate with Design/ PM, “desk research” aka Google
