Oh ok -- I just am going to suggest we add one more thing which is that we add one line to the NEWS.md describing what was done in this PR! So something like:

implemented forward simulation of spatially correlated subpopulations given an adjacency matrix, to be added as an option in the generate_simulated_data() function
