To collect citations of the DMP-ID when used as a related identifier in associated works, we will need to connect to DataCite. For example, a dataset is uploaded to Zenodo, and the DMP-ID is included as a related identifier (see, for instance, https://zenodo.org/record/6536701#.YpesapPMJew).
We discussed pinging DataCite commons when the DMPHub landing page loads. We should also look into how Dryad is recording this information. We will need to include a page loader icon if there is a delay in the information loading or possibly use an accordion/tab to click on and then load the extra info from DataCite.
