Assist Merritt to remove Dryad ARKs #557

Merritt is planning to remove Dryad ARKs. Work with Merritt team to make sure Dryad ARKs are properly handled in both Merritt and EZID systems.

Hi @jsjiang

After Dryad fully transitions off of Merritt it would be ideal if their ARKs did not exist. After reading the EZID API docs, we planned on tombstoning the ARKs by iterating through a list and setting the status to "unavailable." The DELETE option is not available to us due to them not having a "reserved" status.

We'll plan on doing the above unless there is an easy way for you to delete them server-side.

@mreyescdl Hi Mark, How many ARKs need to go through this process? Can you provide a list or additional info for us to identify them in EZID.

Looks to be about 76K arks that Dryad has.
It will be no problem providing a list of the ark names.

Thanks for checking into this. If it is possible to remove them from your end, then we will not tombstone them as part of our removal process.

We will set the ARKs to Tombstone status not deleting.
