I believe this is due to the z-index. It used to be -1 to put it behind the timeline "start" but now there must be something else covering it? I was unable to get it to hide behind the "start" by manipulating their z indexes, though I don't really understand why it wouldn't have worked?
git bisect reveals this is the commit that kills off the timeline center line: https://github.com/CDRH/bandhistory/pull/30/commits/37be7d090297a781e21b496648e22ca6e45115ea
Class in question is
"band-center-line"
. Something happened to it during the styling of the website
