The Common Education Data Standards (CEDS) are an education data management initiative whose purpose is to streamline the understanding of data within and across P-20W institutions and sectors. CEDS includes a common vocabulary complete with standard elements names, definitions, and option sets. This repository contains all the CEDS elements, definitions, option sets and their definitions, and entities and definitions. Its purpose is to expand that vocabulary to meet the needs of every education stakeholder. The expanded vocabulary is then added to the CEDS Integration Data Store and CEDS Data Warehouse – the other two repositories located here.

Use Case Title Add Existing CEDS Element Classification of Instructional Program Code to Workforce

Use Case Description Add Classification of Instructional Program Code (a current CEDS element) to the Workforce domain. Definition: A six-digit code in the form xx.xxxx that identifies instructional program specialties within educational institutions.

Use Case Background The Workforce Workgroup proposes the addition of Classification of Instructional Program Code to identify the participant’s instructional program of study in a workforce program. Similar to Classification of Instructional Program Code used in Workforce -> Workforce Program Participant -> Academic Record -> Academic Award.

Location of Element in the Domain Entity Schema Workforce> Workforce Program Participant | Program Participation| Classification of Instructional Program Code
