COSP v2.0.1 #4

I propose to merge the changes in the beta_v2.0.1 branch with the master branch.

This change was tested in a short (1-month) CESM2 production run. COSP quicklooks for the impacted diagnostics can be seen here: https://esrl.noaa.gov/psd/people/dustin.swales/COSP/v1.4.2/cosp_quicklooksV1.4.2.html

@dustinswales, please could you attach the figures/results of the tests? I think it would be good to get them here as documentation of the change. Thanks, Alejandro

The results look good, I recommend this change to be merged onto the master branch.
