I've made tests. I write e-mails (thunderbird + pop2owa v1_0RC4, XP Home) in French and use a Spanish OWA server (think it's 2003, but I'm not sure). If I write an e-mail forcing Occidental(charset=windows-1252) encoding and send it through pop2owa to a non owa adress, when I receive the e-mail the accents are changed (ê becomes ê, é becomes é, ç -> ç...). The header of the e-mail is correct (windows-1252). But if I force thunderbird to use UTF-8 encoding to read the mail, then my accents are back! The same when writing in Occidental (ISO-8859-1). But if i write in UTF-8, when I receive the mail the accents are changed the same way, but there is no way to make them look good. Idon't know if this issue is due to pop2owa or to owa configuration, I hope this can help you understand what happens. Thanks for your software, keep on! Best regards.

Hi. I think that I have found the problem. Messages must be send with 7-bits chars. You can force your e-mail client to send the messages encoded as 'Quoted printable'.

Non US characters can cause problems with outgoing mails. Some user can send this charset with pop2owa, buty others have problems. It's a problem related with pop2owa+mail client+client configuration but I can't identify the problem.
