Check boxes not propagating on check

• Many checkboxes are not updating in the database when the user selects them
• Includes descriptors and inappropriate fields

Looking at the logs, this may be because the frequency of API calls is to high for the puny "hobby grade" dyno tier we are using for prototype / dev

ORR maybe it's because postgres doesn't support upsert!!
