What you'll do:
Use your expert front-end skills to work in a cross disciplinary delivery pod to collectively ship quality UI features and UX improvements to customers
Work with other Front-end Engineers to plan and develop sustainable UI practices using Salesforce front-end frameworks, which includes phasing in Xero’s Design System
Collaborate with Product Designers to implement consistent responsive designs with users in mind
Promote the value of front-end non functional requirements within the team including site speed performance, usability and accessibility etc.
Coordinate with Salesforce Engineers to strategise and implement scalable Salesforce flavoured UI components based on the Web Components spec
Collaborate with other product teams to develop React based solutions which utilises Salesforce’s preferred partners and integrations
Develop robust, secure, high-quality software, meeting requirements of the agreed specifications, and complying with Xero’s formal and informal development team standards and procedures
Maintain knowledge of current and emerging development technologies and methodologies
What you'll bring with you:
A love for the web, UX engineering, modern JavaScript, CSS, and semantic HTML, with an eye for design patterns and UI component split out
Proven experience with CMSs, CSS pre-processors, Git workflows, responsive & scalable design patterns, modern JavaScript and HTML5
Experience working with JavaScript frameworks or libraries like React, Angular or Vue
Working knowledge of modern web development patterns, JavaScript, CSS methodologies, and digital accessibility.
A passion for developing user-focused web-based applications for all major viewport sizes and modern browsers
A self-starting and pragmatic problem-solving mindset, while working around third-party tooling issues and limitations
The ability to communicate well and work as part of a cross disciplinary team in an Agile environment with continuous improvement in mind for you and the team
A passion for continuously shipping value to users, while pragmatically balancing technical debt and quality with speed, and the maturity to communicate this balance to stakeholders.
