Catalyst Cloud is an open source cloud computing company. We are New Zealand's leading innovator in true cloud computing and providers of cloud services based on OpenStack and Kubernetes. We operate three public cloud regions onshore and multiple private clouds for large enterprises.
We are looking for a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to help our people design and implement solutions on top of the Catalyst Cloud. You will be working with customers on both the pre-sales and post-sales stages of cloud adoption, ensuring the solutions we build together meet their business needs. The ideal candidate has a strong background in software development or infrastructure management, and a rare blend of technical and customer engagement skills.
Your responsibilities will be varied and can be split into both pre-sales and post-sales phases.
During the pre-sales phase, you will be helping customers determine if Catalyst Cloud is the right solution for them, working with Business Development Managers and Partners to identify and qualify opportunities and technical requirements, owning the technical aspects of the business cycle, including product/solution briefings and proof-of-concept work. This is in addition to architecting solutions to meet customer needs and identifying and handling key technical objectives.
During the post-sales phase you will be developing trusted long term relationships with our cloud customers, providing troubleshooting and enablement on a wide variety of technical and strategic topics including: cloud best practices, development, and operations. You will ensure our customers succeed in their use of the Catalyst Cloud.
It’s important that you will be able to communicate with customers with clarity and courtesy (verbally and in writing) and collaborate with other team members on technical and customer service challenges.
The qualifications and skills we are ideally looking for are:
• Passion for open source and cloud computing
• Proven consulting or customer service background
• Knowledge of cloud native and DevOps practices
• Experience with at least one cloud platform, such as OpenStack, AWS, Azure, Google, Vmware
• Experience with container or serverless technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, Function as a Service, AWS Lambda
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef
• Proficiency with one or more software development/scripting languages, such as Golang, Python, Bash, C/C++, .NET, Java
• Availability to travel to meet customers in person
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential as you’ll be working on complex topics with colleagues and clients.
