Collect illustrative examples of W3C Web Annotation #79

Open proycon opened 2 years ago

As discussed a few weeks ago with @hennie @menzowindhouwer @brambg @lvanwissen, in the scope also of the Golden Agents project and others working with web annotations, we decided it would be beneficial to collect a simple repository containing web annotation examples of diverse scenarios. The aim is to document best practices/vocabularies in the fields where we operate. After all, merely agreeing on the use of W3C Web Annotations is often insufficient for annotations tools to interoperate, as they also need to agree on the vocabulary used.

The gathered examples can be either real examples from the field or designed examples.

Amongst these examples it would be useful to include results of conversion from other annotation formats/paradigms to web annotations (c.f. proycon/folia#102).

I added those notes we made in markdown during that meeting to an issue here: https://github.com/CLARIAH/webannotation-examples/issues/1

The goal was to harmonize or align the results of various tools that output Web Annotations according to the w3c specs but also add custom properties. We need to find or come up with a linked data version of those properties.
