Aliases in CF Standard Names #2

When a new standard name table is imported there are likely to be aliases that need to be updated.

This could be done by an edit to the physical parameters, but it would be cleaner if the new terms could be imported to the existing CF Standard Name record so that it is simply treated as a change in the name of an existing standard name record.

For reference:

The CF repository (https://github.com/WCRP-CMIP/CF/tree/main) is automatically updated to mirror that of the official CF conventions as presented on their site (https://github.com/cf-convention/cf-convention.github.io).

Although a different format, the entries are in JSONLD and designed so that they can be linked within the CVs ensuring only the most up-to date data is used for quality control and information processes.

It would be useful to know any additional information that might be missing from this (such as aliases) such that it may be integrated into the repository.
