A question about recording of real-time physiological data during fMRI #271

I am using the SIEMENS Magnetom PRISMA system for conducting my project, and I have a problem with it; I hope you can help me solve the problem.

In my thesis, I should also record heart rate by pulse oximeter and the respiratory data by respiration belt during task-fMRI. The issue I have faced is that the fMRI system records these physiological data for only 4 to 5 minutes at the beginning of task-fMRI, and the rest of the data is not recorded.

My question is that how can the fMRI system be set to record the total physiological data? Would you mind help me? Is there any way I can solve this problem with the fMRI system?

Hi @rameshsomayeh,

Could you be misinterpreting the resolution of the physio recording output files?

the Siemens logfile is able to skip certain 'tics' (i.e. time units of 2.5 ms), and only write out every SampleTime = 2 (or 8 for Resp) sample into the logfile, as indicated in its header.

Best,

This is a known issue in VD11/VD13/VE11 when using the old style CPmuSequence/IdeaCmdTool physiology logging. In the C2P sequences the "DICOM" option solves this.
