depot tutor clean up #24

Here is a list of tutor patches that either need to be removed permanently from the Depot tutors folder or relocated as instructed below. We should maintain these files behind the scene and will eventually be resurrecting them in a better organized tutor folder in the Depot.

From CNMAT_MMJ_Depot/tutors/

Essential_Objects Essential_tutors&topics MSP_Overview —this should be moved one layer down and renamed MSP_Essential-Objects-Library.

From CNMAT_MMJ_Depot/tutors/object-tutors delete all the following patches — no need to keep these in any form.

about_bpatcher about_counter about_cycle~ about_menu about_metro about_midiparse about_pack-unpack about_regexp about_route about_scale about_select

From CNMAT_MMJ_Depot/tutors/topic-tutors aliasing — change name of current patch to on_aliasing DSP_Settings — check to see if this patch is up to date with Max 6. expr+sprintf-horrible-truth— remove from topic-tutors folder and imbed as patcher in the tutors/object-tutors/about_sprintf MS-stereo — remove this patch and put in the third-party folder that will live in the rear studio pedagogy archive

remove these patches from Depot but save somewhere as we will be creating some patches similar to these but more consolodated on_arithmetic on_data-storage on_io on_lists on_logic on_max-message-semantics on_MaxDataTypes on_MIDI on_mouse-kboard-trkpad on_patch-cords on_random-numbers on_ranges-of-numbers on_scaling-output on_set-message on_variables on_waveforms

rename the patch priorities to on_timing-in-max rename the patch routing_data_types to on_routing_data_types review the patch smoother+derivitive for usefulness and remove as you see fit. rename the patch signal_visualization to on_signal_visualization

@EdmundCampion - are there any patches that you would like to be included here at this point? I'm moving lessons that we'd like to archive into deprecated.

Not sure what you mean. Just do what the case says and discard the ones mentioned and "deprecate" the others -- in the hopes I can get back to them someday.

Did I miss something?

These are done - working on the rest.

There is less of a horrible truth these days... Commas work in all situations Matt mentioned.

DSP settings - updated.

I'm keeping some of these around in order to update and improve upon them. Why not, right?

Renamed smoother+derivitive to on_smoothing_and_derivatives.maxpat

Closing this issue for now - the rest is a series of ongoing improvements in tutors.
