The CNMAT Main Room is functioning much better already than in the beginning of the semester. However, there are some details that make it really difficult to hold presentations in there. What we noticed throughout the final presentations of 158A:
Mac OS Mojave --> the AVB Motu is not at all found. It literally says there's no equipment found neither in discovery nor in pro audio control. It doesn't help to change the browser. This happened consistently with 3-4 different computers ranging from about 2013 Mac Book Pro's to brand new ones.
Mac OS Sierra --> AVB Motu found with Safari, but not with Chrome
Mac with the thunderbolt 3 --> screen blinking in white and green. This was fixed by Jeremy for the Friday 207 presentations, thank god!
the clicking sound that was present in Friday 207 presentations as well. I think we got rid of that by restarting the computer.
Hurray for no square wave distortion! Also the Windows machines were working really well in the Main Room environment.
In our 158A final presentations we took as much time in trouble shooting as giving presentations. The students handled this very well. I anticipated the overall situation by bringing in nice chocolate, strawberries and making some tea.
