6 months ago - Short battery life. ~ 10% and 0.08 V depletion over 22 hours on a reasonably sunny day (though low sun angle in winter)
- Water level sensor leads too short and brittle for plug/socket to be easily connected. One solder joint broke on sensor after assembly.
- Would be better to be able to twist top end cap or whole unit to face south. Solar panel cable comes out of one side and prevents rotation. Could end caps be assembled without epoxy?
- Top end cap needs to be heightened to avoid plug bolt hitting solar panel.
- Epoxying solar cable penetration instead of using a gland seal may be a failure point
- Birds likely to sit on solar panel and deposit sunblock
