Is winter Rs a proxy for Rh? Can this be scaled globally?

~How many Rs_winter observations are there in SRDB?~
People have chilled trees to put them in suspended animation and then measured soil fluxes to get at Rh - this would be kind of analogous, but on an ecosystem scale
Has anyone done a review of wintertime Rs?
Has anyone used winter Rs as a proxy for Rh?
Has anyone done reviews of plant respiration in winter?

~What's the overarching science question (basically that's your words at top of this comment)~
~By "Rh" do we mean winter Rh? I assumed we meant annual Rh?~
~What's our hypothesis?~
~What might affect whether winter Rs is a good proxy for annual Rh? One immediate factor would be places that don't get cold enough, right? The degree to which it's a robust proxy might depend on temperature/seasonality.~

look at transplant data and TEMPESTX data 45um ? try to make a graph
