As part of our appraisal of the existing platform, we want to create a page and potentially area that is aimed at authors looking to potentially publish with an OBC publisher. This is likely to link from the 'take action' section of the existing site from what is currently 'readers and authors'. Rather than linking to directly to the catalogue, we want a page that can contextually the OBC and how an author may use the catalogue to find an appropriate publisher for them within the OBC.
Potential content ideas of this page/area include:
-Why publish with an OBC OA publisher?
-no BPC
-EDI
-Global reach
-Accredited and approved, high quality OA presses
-Financial transparency
-Emphasise that any prices stated on the platform are not author oriented, but rather institutional library membership costs to support the OBC allowing libraries to actively participate in the OBC community, and to become a part of the OBC's governance
In doing this, we a re conscious of the potential structure of this area as we would like URLs to reflect a coherent hierarchy.
