It would be good to check model sync at both the start and end of runs.
Currently the models are out of sync check and abort is done at the end of runs, but sometimes (e.g. https://github.com/COSIMA/libaccessom2/issues/48) they are out of sync from the start. In such cases it would save a lot of walltime and SU to check model sync at the start of runs and abort early.
