The "upcoming events" section is currently using MeetUp.com icons which isn't appropriate. It would be awesome if we could have 3 simple icons that can be used to indicate 2 different types of upcoming events:
Project Collaboration Meetup
Speaker Meetup
Rather than putting the actual text in the icon we can overlay text on the image with HTML/CSS. This could allow for using the same icon for both purposes if we would rather have one design rather than 2.
Also, we could consider just using images rather than going through the design process.
