What did you work on this past iteration (2 weeks)? What were any major issues/challenges you ran into? What do you plan to work on for this coming iteration (2 weeks)?

What did you work on this past iteration (2 weeks)?

Built a profile component and the add song popup, added redux stores and actions for both and hooked them up
Created a redux store for songList
Tried adding Redux to our project (but failed because of Typescript issues, Perry took over)
researched about socket.io for our chat and synced YouTube player

What were any major issues/challenges you ran into?

We realized that JS packages don't always work perfectly with TypeScript but we got around it eventually

What do you plan to work on for this coming iteration (2 weeks)?

Setup Express for our project
Look into authentication and users (followed by chat, as time permits)

What did you work on this past iteration (2 weeks)?

Fixed the text input and search bars so they can take input and their parent components can use the input #25 #34 #38
Implemented dashboard display (with default data that will be coming from the database soon) #32
Added action/reducer/store interactions for creating a new user acct (this will be hooked up to the front end soon) #37
Updated styling for text input, search bar, general images, music player queue and dashboard

What were any major issues/challenges you ran into?

Initially the user needed to press enter for the search to run but we wanted to change this so the genre list would update on each keystroke. The first couple iterations of this would reload the page (and thus clear the data) as the user typed/return duplicate items/wasn't case insensitive etc... but we eventually got it working as we intended

What do you plan to work on for this coming iteration (2 weeks)?

set up MongoDB and connect it to our app #57 #58

Built the React component for the vote buttons #31
Built the React component for the music player queue #30
Implemented the Redux logic for sidebar component(s) (still in progress due to) #37

What were any major issues/challenges you ran into?

Some TypeScript issues; nothing major, just annoying
Struggling to get Redux logic to work properly (state is not being updated properly)

What do you plan to work on for this coming iteration (2 weeks)?

Set up MongoDB and connect it to the app #57 #58
Finish adding Redux logic to sidebar component(s) #37
Implement music sidebar component #27

integrate framer motion into our project
code reviews!

bugs with external apis :c

connect our components with redux and or mongo

try out YouTube API and see how useful it is with what our goals are #56
