JFD's Rule with Faith incompatible #581

Love this mod, completely essential to my Civ VI experience.

I started a game on 14th July with a number of qol mods and a main "overhaul" type mod with RWF. Everything played well, I saved on T142 went to bed. A few hours ago, I fired up the machine and started playing again, nothing seemed amiss for the first few turns. I then go to look at the GP screen and the Great Theologian column has been replaced by a second Great Musician one, although the details of the G Theo are still on screen, and an actual G Theo spawns.

Then I look at the Goverment slot screens and it seems to have reverted back to normal, with no Religious or Cultural slots and all cards have reverted (colour-wise, I'm not sure about their content) to the regular Red/Yellow/Green/Purple.

I went through all my mods, switch them on and off and starting a new game until I found out which one seems to be causing it and it appears to me to be CQUI. And the fact that there was an update on the 15th reinforces my thought that it is CQUI. I was really enjoying RWF and love to play it again, but CQUI is too essential to play without, so I will restart games with Quo's Tweaks or Ananse's overhaul.

I've made a comment on JFD's page on civfanatics, but if anyone here knows of a solution, I'd be thankful. I could just be doing something completely stupid and obviously wrong, so any hints much appreciated.

Keep up the great work.

I've addressed this a couple of times in different places, so it's probably worth having this as a tracked issue at this point. CQUI has never been compatible with RwF. Mod incompatibility is a very flukey thing and sometimes the issues are entirely minor, sometimes the issues are gamebreaking. It's not on an update-to-update basis. It's actually on a load-to-load basis. Each load has the potential to break in a different way, because the conflicting files don't always load in the same order.

That being said, I'm not against the idea of making CQUI more compatible with other mods, especially those which can't be integrated into CQUI for whatever reason (in this case, since it's non-vanilla gameplay).

Thanks for letting me know. I'm inexperienced when it comes to mods, so didn't realise that mods loaded in different orders each time you played.

Also, I'm relatively new to Github and you mention that its worth having this as a tracked issue - should I not close the issue then?
