Would be nice to implement holdings in the autopilot / FMC. The flight plan nasal API already supports holds, but the CRJ autopilot we have can't fly them, and there is no UI to create holding points in the flight plan (though if you select approaches with a missed approach that end in a hold, or a STAR with holding points, they will appear on the map etc., but they will be treated as regular waypoints.

So I guess this is a two-part thing:

  1. Make it so that the autopilot can fly holds
  2. Add some kind of UI (probably as part of the FMC, see #5) to create holds in the flight plan

This is part of the FMC FPLN. I wouldn't touch this now, until there is a more robust general framework for FMCs.
