Now that we've decided that D3 will be our best bet when it comes to creating an interactive visualization, we should spend some time watching tutorials and getting familiar with how to get started. This video and channel is a great jumping off point from my experience: https://youtu.be/TOJ9yjvlapY

Drop any resources y'all find in the comments here as well!

D3.js Resources: Tutorials, Tools, and References (yangdanny97.github.io) → I came across this website and it has a ton of really good stuff in it. First, there’s this tutorial by this guy Danny that seems to be neat and clear in explaining simply and it’s probably a nice start along with the Academind video: (https://yangdanny97.github.io/intro-to-d3/) And then [d3-graph-gallery.com], which has steps or the source code to create most of the charts we’ve been thinking of, including a wordcloud and a plugin for that. They also talk about how MapShaper’s a good and easy way to get spatial data into a format that we can visualize with D3, and then there was this more process kind of post I found on Reddit about making the making with D3 easier and less time-consuming, I’m not sure how relevant or helpful that is exactly to what we’ll be doing but it seemed good to atleast take a look at – https://www.reddit.com/r/visualization/comments/4gzqp3/a_simplified_workflow_for_custom_d3_visualizations/ . And there was also a project he shared in there where he kind of lays out an example of that workflow and what he used and did to take care of each smaller step and all sorts of moving parts, so here’s the link to that too – https://np.reddit.com/r/dataisbeautiful/comments/4gyy84/how_much_income_tax_canadians_pay_a_provincial/
