Having the path where the enemies are traveling is a good way to help the player know where they have to place the defenses, which is based on the map. I think the maps should be appealing visually and challenging at the same time so the player can enjoy it.
The pathing script is one of the most vital in the project, as it is basically able to command the enemy objects to follow a set path and move through a waypoint system that can be changed by map.
