Working Calendar Interface

1. User Story

• As a LyncUp! account holder, I want to be able to see my availability and the availabilities of my colleagues/friends/family, so that I can potentially plan events accordingly.

2. Which biz goal are you targeting and why?

• The biz goal that we are targeting for this feature is satisfaction. If we have a working calendar interface overlaid with the schedule of added group-members, then LyncUp will be doing its purpose. Users are assumed to continually log-in to check availabilities, so there is no reason (unless they or their colleagues stop inputting availabilities) to not retain users.

3. Use Case Template

• Name: Viewing Working Calendar Interface.
• Description: View a calendar interface overlaid with the user's personal schedule, as well as the availabilities of those in her group (depending on the selected option).
• Preconditions: The user has an account with LyncUp!, and has logged-in.
• Postconditions: The user will be able to see the working calendar interface with overlays as spoken on in the description.
• Basic Course of Action:
  • 1) The use case begins when a user wishes to see the schedules of friends and/or associates (assuming these individuals already have an account with LyncUp!).
  • 2) The user visits the LyncUp! website, and creates an account.
  • 3) Once an account is made, the user signs in with their respective credentials.
  • 4) Once signed in, the user can view their calendar, which is empty until events for the current week are created.
  • 5) Upon the creation of a group, the calendar now displays an overlay of the user's personal schedule, along with the schedule of their group members.
• Alternative Path A: The user does not make an account
  • 1) The path picks up after the basic course of action routine (a) concludes.
  • 2) The user visits the LyncUp! website, but does not choose to create an account.
  • 3) They will not be given any of the features that a signed-in user gets, so they will be stuck on the homepage.
• Alternative Path B: The user creates an account, but does not input their personal schedule, and does not add friends or groups (only creates an account).
  • 1) The path picks up after the basic course of action routine (d) concludes.
  • 2) The user chooses to do nothing in regards to filling in the calendar, so they have a blank calendar view, and a blank friends/groups sidebar. It will remain this way until they proceed to steps (e) and (f) of the basic course of action.

4.Acceptance Test:

• Verify when no events are present, the calendar shows as empty.
• Verify when event is created within the same week as the current day, it updates on personal calendar view with the event name and also the calendar view with profile picture for each group user is in.
• Verify when other users in my groups add events I can see it in my group views.
• Verify that events beyond this week will not show up in any calendar views.
• Verify that deleted events are removed from calendar views.

Please update to use the templates for use cases and user stories. Also redo the biz goal to use one of the three we talked about in class.

Acceptance Test:

• When I create an event within the same week as the current day, it should update on my personal calendar view with the event name and also the calendar view with my profile picture for each group I am in.
• When other users in my groups add events I should be able to see it in my group views.
• Events beyond this week will not show up in any calendar views.
