Following tutorial to bring lambda function to VS Code with Amplify.

The tutorial I originally had was more for creating a lambda function within the app from scratch, which perhaps I should have done in the first place. But since I have done so much work on the lambda function already, I am searching for ways to sync the already existing function into an already existing app, so as to not restart either. If I can not, I can start one over.

I'm confused about implementing the lambda function into Amplify. There have been too many updates and redocumentation of things since the tutorial I was using. I'm searching for a better one but there's not a lot of information about it.
