Rework template to extend a base.twig instead of variables.twig #59

I think it would be more intuitive if all layouts would extend a base layout instead of "_utils/variables". This is mostly just a renaming thing, no big refactor involved.

We could also take this opportunity to use the {% spaceless %} directive around the output.
