Interpretation of Confirmed Global Cases Time Series #1628

Hi.

I just want to make sure that I am understanding the Time Series numbers correctly: For example, for the US, it says: on March 24: 53740 cases, March 25: 65778 cases.

Is this saying you will have 65778 cases in TOTAL by March 25, or you will have 65778 NEW cases on March 25?

I believe it's this: There were 53740 confirmed cases reported as of March 24th. There were 65778 confirmed cases reported as of March 25th.

Hi drikjyotsinghk,

It's cumulative sum, which means that each day they put the total of yesterday's cases + number of new cases. As the same example that you posted: For US:
