Hello,
Maybe the total and cured cases numbers should also be generated from the same source ? The death cases do not match up now with the total and cured cases (Total cases < death cases + cured cases).
Hello @roysaad,
Thank you for your message. Similar to deaths, our data for cases and recoveries matches that published by Ministry of Health of Peru (MINSA). Unfortunately, MINSA has at this time chosen not to include these newly identified deaths as new cases in either the present epidemiological counts or their historical data. For example, see yesterday's press release, wherein the total number of cases (1,991,203) is less than the sum of deaths and recoveries (187,479 + 1,947,432 = 2,134,911).
Hello all,
Further to #4167, we have successfully been able to back distribute the spike in deaths throughout our time series and daily reports in PR #4203.
The back distribution was designed using the data available on the Peruvian Ministry of Health Open Data portal, shifting +1 day to match how our reporting lined up with previous files. Using this file has allowed us to generate a subnational back-distribution for our daily reports. We cannot comment on the source used by the World Health Organization to correct their time series.
