No More Real-time Refreshes? #587

Open Gurnnison opened 4 years ago

Gurnnison commented 4 years ago

The last update was at 8:33AM CST, are there not going to be real-time updates going forward?

nguyandy commented 4 years ago

I noticed this too... numbers seem to be really behind now.

bstichter commented 4 years ago

I was watching things yesterday and my computer showed an update at about the beginning of the work day and another at about the end of the work day. I assumed there would be an update sometime in the next hour or so.

Gurnnison commented 4 years ago

Updates were coming every ten minutes, at 3 minutes after (X:03,, X:13, X:23, etc.) based on newly available data. If there was no new data there wasn't an update.

Currently total confirmed cases and Confirmed cases broken down by province and country "Cannot access data". Is anyone else seeing this?

Looks like they added authentication to the site. https://www.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html gives a login screen. I'm not sure if this was the case before, but the data seems to be inaccessible now.

scott-mikus commented 4 years ago

That was the case before I believe which allows you access to admin portion of the dashboard. But if you navigate directly to the dashboard you have no restrictions. As you can access the GitHub repository without credentials. It appears that the different components are bouncing around as far as accessing the data from the repository which could mean that there is just a huge load on the system which is causing the system to lag and bounce users to protect itself from crashing. Because when i refresh the dashboard i get different components with the "Cannot Access Data" tag. Try accessing the link below to see if it will load.

Even there own public facing website is showing this inaccessible data prompts so i don't believe its an access issue. You can see this mid way down the page on this site.

Thanks, that sounds logical, but still getting "No Data" messages for the queries: {"error":{"code":400,"message":"","details":["Unable to perform query. Please check your parameters."]}} So there is some kind of connection, but Error 400 can't give much info at all beyond that, not even a 503 which would indicate overload. I would like to imagine that the developers are frantically trying to solve the problem...

They're in maintenance right now.

Gurnnison commented 4 years ago

And? This was long before maintenance. What about the 10 hours between the last refresh and the most recent one (which was 4 hours ago)?

mellingham commented 4 years ago

I was replying to the comment directly preceding mine, which was specific to the outage time.
