“Disallow negative text indent” doesn’t seem to provide strong reasons not to use an “outdent” (there are some good points but nothing so strong as to warrant an outright ban). More importantly, then, the rule doesn’t acknowledge a and maybe the perfectly legitimate typographic use case, viz. the hanging indent.
From what I can tell, dropping this rule would be an improvement to CSSLint.
