@judyhanna, @blyeo okay, I've downloaded and examined the PUR database. I think that we can move forward somewhat with our strategy, except we have the following problem. There are something like 35K different pesticide products. This includes about 3500 chemicals in about 20 different application forms. So, I don't know how you want to put these in a budget. For example, here are the pesticides for tomatos; https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CvibGurN-nMR9nr24FC0FkKQv0h5wMYfLjPt_D7WRwE/edit?usp=sharing
About 500 products and 250 chemical / formula combos. However, the number of applications per type drops off sharply, so we could just pick the most used ones, identify those directly, and add the others in as "others" or something.
Remember, we need prices for all we put in. @judyhanna, I'm making you the decision maker:
@blyeo / @judyhanna what is the decision on this. Do not use?
@blyeo / @judyhanna , so with the notes on the materials.csv file, you may want to revisit the standard naming scheme for the pesticides on the farm-budget-data.
See if we can snatch what's needed from there for our naming shceme.
