In order to do thumbnails and DASH manifest generation asynchronously, a job server should be used to manage possible long-running tasks.

I can't assign it to myself, but I'm on it.

I think I'll use some messaging framework to decouple the elements of the system. Since I have the most experience with AWS SQS https://aws.amazon.com/documentation/sqs/
