This mod is a server+client mod. Client and Server should install the mod together. But there is one way to make it only-server:

Modify the config file in config/toneko.yml and set the server-only option to true. Then restart the server. Player can join the server without toNeko in client. But some text may unable to display.

If you want to change the letter in [] ,you should modify the config file and set language to your language.

If you want to use another languages in command, just add a 「"」like 「"你好"」

For language problem,usually use /tonekoadmin reload after you modify config. But it maybe not fully completed. Restart the game or server maybe it will be fully effective.

For permissions, I will try to find the reason.

You said you use /tonekoadmin nickname settings,but there isn't nickname in /tonekoadmin command,maybe you misremembered?
