i know it's harder to read these disk's but can anyone confirm that they do work with the exploit?

It doesn't matter for the exploit...

A Sony branded DVD-RW worked for me (tested on two SCPH-90001) with 3.10/3.11 hybrid iso.

As long as your drive can read the disc and content...
