"Please insert playstation or playstation 2 disc" error

Ps2 model is SCPH-79001, playstation driver 2.00, DVD player 3.11U. I first burned a dvd+r by dragging and dropping it at 10x speed, (it was the lowest speed there was there-) which gave a "unable to read disc/disc cannot be read" error, so I burned another dvd+r with CDBurnerXP, 1x speed, compatibility, and finalization options- It worked, but only after unplugging my controller, (taking out the memory card and usb i had in didn't make a difference) and then it gave a "Please insert playstation or playstation 2 format disc" when trying to boot it up. I used the all ps2 slims iso, also. I put in a dvd (the hunger games,) as well as a store bought game (kingdom hearts 1,) and it worked just fine. I don't really know what the problem could be... any help would be appreciated <3

Check if laser is dying. Also try to uses DVD - r, not +r

Hi i tried imgburn first at 4X, and now with CDBURNER XP at 1X with enabled High Compatibility + finalise dvd. I got the message The disc could not be read. I tried to unplug the controller, remove the memory card, i tried to put a movie dvd and after cleaning the lens the movie dvd was booting each time. But the burned DVD-R still not work. i use All PS2 Slims - English language.iso version for my ps2 slim 77001.

The pre-built iso for E is not working for me too, but the 3.11e worked after removing controller. I have too ps2's 70004 and 77004 wish the 3.11e was still available to download.

Hola, probé imgburn primero en 4X, y ahora con CDBURNER XP en 1X con alta compatibilidad habilitada + DVD finalizado. Recibí el mensaje No se pudo leer el disco. Traté de desconectar el controlador, quitar la tarjeta de memoria, traté de poner un DVD de película y después de limpiar la lente, el DVD de película arrancaba cada vez. Pero el DVD-R grabado todavía no funciona. Utilizo All PS2 Slims: versión en inglés.iso para mi ps2 slim 77001.

I want to help those who read me and also give information to @CTurt . Burning FreeDVDBoot to a Verbatim DVD+RW worked for me. I did it with ImgBurn at 4x speed.

That it worked on a PS2-Slim model 79001. DVD version 3.11U
