Edited submission details on website don't update existing ZenDesk ticket #418

As a submitter it is possible to edit the details you submitted, when you log into www.openaccess.cam.ac.uk and view any of the submissions in the 'my uploads' page. You can edit any form fields and replace your manuscript.

However, any edits after the initial submission do not update the ZenDesk ticket. So an author could be making changes and we wouldn't know about them. See attached screenshots of my original submission in ZenDesk and my edited details. I changed the file and the department and funder fields. The link in ZenDesk still goes to the original file I uploaded.

Original submission - Department is Chemistry

Revised submission - Department is DAMPT on the Open Access site, but it's still Chemistry in ZenDesk screenshot-www openaccess cam ac uk 2015-01-21 14-13-41

Original file submitted - viewed by clicking on link in ZenDesk: screenshot 2015-01-21 14 12 58

File I've replaced - viewed by clicking on link in www.openaccess.cam.ac.uk screenshot 2015-01-21 14 14 09

Expected behaviour:

  1. When a user makes an edit to the form, an update should be sent to the ZenDesk ticket which reads:

User updated their submission on [date/time stamp] OR User replaced their manuscript on [date/time] stamp

The revised details should appear as a new entry in the ticket, so agents will be able to see the new and original details e.g. this format: screenshot 2015-01-21 14 18 25

  1. I don't think we should update the ZenDesk custom fields automatically, but the agents could update the fields manually. The agents should check in case the user has uploaded the wrong manuscript version, changed funder details etc.
